Sir Raymond West, M.A., I.C.S., Bar-at-Law. : Was one of the esteemed and erudite Judges of the Bombay High Court. He was a scholar and jurist, well versed in Roman Law and comparative jurisprudence and also exceptionally learned in Hindu Law. HIs "Digest of Hindu Law", written in collaboration with Professor Buhler, who was at the time professor of Sanskrit in the Deccan College , Poona, was long regarded as authoritative.
